Local Food Tourism With An International Twist
We
started years ago by combing lanes, hutongs, and far-flung streets, dedicating
ourselves to cramming in a bite at every crowded stall and undiscovered gem.
Our purpose was simple: to single out the local family-run restaurants with the
most delectable dishes and singular personalities. As those who’ve visited us
from all over the globe will happily attest to, these local treasures are easy
to miss, and hard to excavate – unless you know exactly where to look.
We can’t
wait to show you what we’ve found. Each guided tour is designed to unleash your
inner gourmet, and to make your visit to Shanghai and Beijing a scrumptiously memorable
one.Entrees
- Side Street Dim-Sum Crawl (mornings only) - We'll whisk you away to an early-bird special of Shanghai’s tastiest breakfast treats, including savory pastries, the Chinese version of the crème brulee, and buns and breads galore.
- Culinary Dining Tours (daytime & evenings) - Savor a range of flavors and textures for
breakfast, lunch or dinner while crossing through some of Shanghai's
well-preserved neighborhoods.

After drinking your fill, take a stroll through the French Concession, visit a wholesale tea market and buy tea ware and fresh tea leaves from local sellers with our bilingual expert at your side.
- Chinese Cooking Classes - See what goes on beyond the reach of your chopsticks. Join an expert local Chef or one of our neighborhood friends to peek into a kitchen and make your own delicious Chinese food.
- Old City Market Stroll - Take in the exotic sights and sounds of a local market while strolling through a traditional Shanghai neighborhood. Check out a produce stand, see fresh cut noodles and more.
